Monipay Ecosystem Spotlight: Celo Hackathon, Proof of Ship, and StartupBank 2.0

It has been an incredibly busy and rewarding few months for the Monipay ecosystem. What started as a simple idea sending stablecoins to social usernames instead of wallet addresses has rapidly evolved into a comprehensive AI-powered payments platform.

We are thrilled to share some major milestones, recent feature releases, and community recognition.

3rd Place: Best Agents on Celo Onchain Agents Hackathon

We are incredibly excited to announce that Monipay placed 3rd out of 73 projects in the Celo Onchain Agents Hackathon, recognizing us as one of the Best Agents on the Celo network!

Over the course of the hackathon (June 18-19), we showcased our expanding platform, which now bridges X (Twitter), Telegram, Discord, MiniPay, and onchain agents into a unified, walletless payment experience.

Over the past few months, we have shipped:

  • MagicPay: Walletless social payments across platforms.
  • CasualPay: Simple username-to-username transfers.
  • Scheduled & Recurring Payments: Automating regular transactions.
  • Gated Access Manager: Seamless token-gating.
  • ERC-8004 Agent Identity Integration: Advancing agentic commerce.
  • MiniPay Mini App: Making Monipay accessible to mobile users.
  • Conditional Sports P2P Rewards: Smart rewards powered by AI.

Consistent Growth: Celo Proof of Ship

Building consistently is at the core of what we do. We have been actively participating in Celo’s monthly Proof of Ship leaderboard, where over 300 projects compete:

  • April: Ranked 76th
  • May: Ranked 59th
  • June: Currently Ranked 32nd (and climbing!)

In May, we were incredibly proud to win the AI Track, standing out among 32 AI-focused projects. This track saw over 26,000 transactions over 90 days, and winning a share of the prize pool validates our approach to AI-powered autonomous social payments. Check out the announcement.

Joining Deverse Labs StartupBank 2.0

We have been accepted into the Deverse Labs StartupBank 2.0 incubation program! Curated for founders with live MVPs, this program partners with Celo and MiniPay to provide growth resources and distribution access.

As part of this initiative, Monipay is already live on MiniPay in Dev beta. We are building autonomous social payments powered by AI agents, allowing users to send and receive stablecoins using their X, Telegram, and Discord identities with no wallet required on the receiving side.

What Comes Next?

We also recently joined the MetaMask Agent Wallet Early Access program, positioning us to integrate even deeper with standard crypto infrastructure while abstracting the complexity for end users.

We are just getting started. The goal remains the same: Make stablecoin payments as simple as sending a message.
